Angela Porter, M.A. LMFT is a somatic therapist and trauma treatment specialist, with a primary focus in individual, couple, and group therapy, and training other therapists. She studied Gestalt, Body- Centered, and Somatic Therapy at Esalen Institute, Counseling Psychology at The Wright Institute, and is both an instructor and practitioner of BREEMA, and a practitioner of EMDR. She has been leading groups since 1991. Facilitating the connection between body and mind with the practice of BREEMA is a foundation of her psychotherapeutic practice. Currently she is in private practice as part of the integrative wellness team at the Breema Clinic in Oakland. She serves as adjunct faculty at CIIS graduate psychology program, teaching courses in clinical supervision, group therapy, and somatic approaches for treating trauma. She is also a supervising clinician at Blackbird Institute, a non-profit organization that trains and supervises clinician interns in Oakland. Angela is a staff instructor at the Breema Center and offers weekly Breema bodywork classes at the Breema Center.
